Precision CNC manufacturer, Turnex Pty Ltd has taken delivery of the next-generation Mazak Integrex i-250H S.
Expanding on their existing Mazak fleet, Turnex chose the Mazak Integrex i-250H S because it is a high-powered turning center and full-function machining center combined, delivering multi-tasking and the highest level of single-setup part-production capability.
The Mazak Integrex i-250H S features a second turning spindle for DONE IN ONE machining, minimising fixtures, tools, handling and non-cut time.
The machine is equipped with a MAZATROL SmoothAi CNC which leverages the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to power innovative tools like SMOOTH Ai Spindle, SMOOTH CAM Ai, MAZATROL TWINS and offers specialised operations such as crank shaft inclined drilling or gear skiving.
Based in Maryvale Victoria, the Turnex team boasts a combined 30 plus years’ experience in the power and mining industry, providing precision CNC machining services throughout Australia with an emphasis on quality, reliability, and flexibility during breakdowns and scheduled outages.
Turnex was established in 2018 by Julian Baccega and Matt Dennison in a small workshop in Maryvale, Victoria. Matt and Julian previously worked together at Firmins Lane Engineering in Morwell, a company they recently purchased and integrated into Turnex.
From 3 employees and some casuals, the company has grown to 20 employees and does lots of work for the power industry in the Latrobe valley as well as providing precision CNC machining services throughout Australia including the automotive and mining industries.
Turnex invested in the new Integrex i-250H S to meet increased workload demands as well as an increased volume for recurring orders from the automotive industry.
The decision to invest in a new Mazak was largely driven by Matt and Julian’s love for the simple to use conversational programming offered by Mazak CNC controls they had experienced on all the older Mazak models they have worked with.
They are therefore very impressed by the power of the latest MAZATROL SmoothAi CNC. Combined with the high speed milling spindle they specified on their machine, they expect to be able to push tools a lot harder when programming on the machine.
The Mazak Integrex i-250H S brings Turnex 5-axis and multi-tasking capabilities as well as the capacity to handle a higher workload.
Turnex is now definitely powered up to meet any machining challenge that might come their way.
