Lovells Special Products has invested in a Mazak Integrex j-200S.
Lovells Special Products has chosen the Mazak Integrex j-200S Multitasking machine because it brings maximum value, precision and throughput to the production of complex medium-sized workpieces.
The Mazak Integrex j-200S makes use of two turning spindles and a milling spindle to productively process parts complete in single setups.
In addition to its cost-effective, yet high-performance turning and angular milling capabilities, the machine also offers automatic tool changing, a large machining area and convenient operation to meet a wide variety of production requirements.
Maximum machining size is 500mm and maximum machining length is 500mm. The large machining area is enhanced thanks to long strokes: X-axis – 450mm, Y-axis – 200mm, Z-axis – 550mm, B-axis indexing range of 220° and C-axis of 360°.
The orthogonal Y-axis machine construction allows face milling, end milling, and drilling to be performed in the large machining area without C-axis indexing thanks to long Y-axis stroke: 200mm.
Both turning spindles on the Mazak Integrex j-200S provide equal high performance with spindle speeds of 5 000rpm and C-axis turning control, with both main and the second spindle consisting of 51mm bores.
The main headstock features an integral spindle/motor that accommodates a wide range of applications, from heavy-duty cutting at low speed to high-speed cutting of aluminium and other non-ferrous materials.
The rigidly clamped C-axis indexes in 0.0001-degree increments and delivers high accuracy. The second spindle also features an integral spindle/motor to ensure high efficiency machining for secondary operations.
The Mazak Integrex j-200S has an 8” chuck size main spindle with a maximum machining diameter of 500mm, motor output of 11.0 kW and has a 36-tool storage per magazine.
The machine is equipped with the Mazatrol SmoothG CNC, offering highly optimised CNC programming for complex CNC part production. The control incorporates a wide variety of advanced CNC programming functions that allow it to offer complete ease of use and ensure high-speed, high-accuracy CNC machining performance.
Lovells Special Products is a division of Lovells Group, created to produce the best quality trailer, camper, caravan and automotive accessories, as well as machined and fabricated components for all industries.
Specialising in Haul Ace couplings and components, camper and caravan suspension, 4x4 and camping accessories, and innovations in Australian touring, Lovells Special Products strives to set the Australian standard for high performance, based on maintaining quality rather than selling down to a price.
Lovells Group began life as Lovells Springs, established in 1930 by George Lovell with his three sons. Lovells Group manufactures every spring size and design from monster 1000mm free height coil springs for 200 tonne locomotives made from 56mm high tensile hardened spring steel, to 7mm induction hardened wire springs for a Formula race car.
The range and manufacturing capacity covers applications from performance automotive, freight wagons, mineral processing shaker springs all the way to agricultural springs for scarifiers and cultivators.
Lovells Group supplies springs and suspension components designed and built to withstand extreme operating conditions including super high temperatures, e.g. in steam safety valves to sub zero temperatures for trains in China, Russia, Alaska and Siberia.
