Two Quick Turns for G&O Kert

G&O Kert have added two Mazak Quick Turn CNC turning centers to their extensive and versatile fleet of Mazak machine tools.

The Quick Turn series machines bring together advanced technology, productivity, and value to deliver exceptional performance for G&O Kert.

The Mazak Quick Turn 350MY mill/turn has multi-tasking capability featuring milling and Y-axis function along with a 300mm through-hole chuck package, 12 station VDI turret, and a 50hp integral main spindle motor to process a wide range of medium to large diameter parts in a single setup.

The Mazak Quick Turn 250 - 2-axis machine will efficiently process a wide range of small to medium size parts and features a 250mm through-hole chuck package, 12 station turret and 35hp integral turning spindle motor.

Thanks to the design of the integral spindle motor, vibration is minimised during high-speed operation to ensure exceptional surface finishes and maximum tool life.

Both machines come equipped with the MAZATROL Smooth-G Conversational CNC, designed for unsurpassed ease of operation from setup to machining. A variety of intelligent functions provide incomparable operator support for exceptional ease of operation and optimum machine efficiency.

From modest beginnings in Brisbane in the 1970’s, G&O Kert has grown from strength to strength and has succeeded through the toughest of market conditions under the guiding hand of Ian Melville the current owner since 2008.

Their 3000 sq/m facility in Acacia Ridge, Queensland, houses a versatile fleet of high-end, state-of-the-art Mazak CNC machine tools, supported by a manual machining section, fabrication bay assembly area and coordinate measuring machine.

G&O Kert services clients in the defence, aerospace, rail, materials handling, mineral processing and power generation industries, working with a wide range of materials, including  carbon and stainless steel, aluminium, copper and copper-based alloys, as well as plastics and composites. They also have extensive experience in machining various material formats such as castings, flame and laser cut plate, bar-stock and modification of existing equipment.
