Steelrod Pty Ltd have just taken delivery of their brand new Mazak MTV-515/40.
Based in Narangba Queensland, Australian owned and family operated since 1974, Steelrod grew into the fully fledged operation it is today by continually improving its manufacturing processes and investing in the most modern equipment such as the Mazak MTV-515/40.
Designed with quality, efficiency, ease of operation and safety in mind, the Mazak MTV-515/40 features a high-torque spindle and high-rigidity machine construction ideal for heavy-duty machining.
This vertical machining center is equipped with a robust #50 taper spindle that provides a top speed of 6000 rpm, 25 hp, and maximum torque of 759 Nm to deliver high efficiency machining of parts from a wide variety of materials.
Plus the column-feed machine design with wide machining area makes this machine the ideal choice for Steelrod because of its work envelope of 1,050mm x 510mm x 560mm.
To further enhance productivity, the machine has been fitted with the optional 2 pallet changer, allowing setup of the next workpiece while the current workpiece is being machined.
The Mazak MTV-515/40 is equipped with the MAZATROL SmoothG CNC, incorporating a wide variety of advanced CNC programming functions that allow it to offer complete ease of use and ensure high-speed, high-accuracy CNC machining performance.
Steelrod are realising time reductions of up to 20% using the new SmoothG controller compared to the Matrix controller. This is Steelrod’s third installation of this model Mazak.
