The world-class Mazak HCN-5000/50 horizontal machining center combines unsurpassed performance, precision, reliability and production value for high-volume large heavy part operations.
Application: Automotive engine cover component | Material: Al Mg2.5 (A5052) | Size: 600 x 410 x 125 mm
The Mazak HCN-5000/50 is a high-performance horizontal machining center (HMC) built to handle heavy-duty metal removal with exceptional precision.
Designed to balance heavy cutting capabilities with high-speed efficiency, the Mazak HCN-5000/50 combines a rigid structural footprint with a 50-taper spindle platform. The machine leverages a heavy-duty No. 50 spindle taper designed for large-diameter tooling, deep face milling, and tough material removal.
At the core of the machine's architecture is a heavily ribbed, high-rigidity bed engineered to minimize thermal distortion and structural flexing under high cutting loads. It utilises high-rigidity linear roller guides across all linear axes to deliver stable motion dynamics while supporting fast rapid traverse rates of up to 60,000 mm/min (2,362 IPM).
The Mazak HCN-5000/50 features X, Y, and Z-axis travels of 730 mm, 730 mm, and 800 mm respectively, and a maximum workpiece size of Φ800 mm × 1000 mm.
The Mazak HCN-5000/50 is equipped with a two-pallet automatic pallet changer using high-precision cone coupling to lock the pallet in place with high repeatability. For extended periods of unattended, lights-out operation, the Mazak HCN-5000/50 can seamlessly integrate with Mazak’s automated production systems, such as the PALLETECH or the Multi-Pallet Pool (MPP).
Equipped with Mazak's advanced CNC platform, the MAZATROL SmoothG, the machine combines conversational programming simplicity with G-code flexibility. Intelligent thermal compensation models actively counteract axis heat expansion, ensuring high accuracy across long machining cycles.
