Enjoy this Mazak Variaxis i-300 AWC machining demonstration from the DISCOVER 2025 event held at Mazak North America’s HQ in October 2025.
Mazak’s Variaxis i-300 features an auto work changer
The Mazak Variaxis i-300 simultaneous 5-axis vertical machining center has the addition of a high-capacity auto work changer (AWC) and is designed to deliver a lower price per component, faster return-on-investment, and improved profitability.
The Mazak Variaxis i-300 AWC is capable of high-speed, high-accuracy machining of complex components from aluminium and other nonferrous metals for a variety of industries including aerospace, medical and automotive.
The auto work changer is suitable for high-mix, low-volume production, combined with the space-saving magazine the solution enables continuous machining.
The machine comes standard with a multiple drum tool storage system that holds up to 145 tools, while the AWC with 32 positions accommodates workpieces up to Φ350 mm in diameter, 315 mm high and weighing up to 65 kg including the work holder. This combination of tool and workpiece storage capacities allows machine shops to achieve continuous unmanned operation and single-setup processing.
Smooth AWC software, which enables setup management and scheduled operation, is standard equipment, supporting the customer's high-mix, low-volume production.
