Mazak’s FJV-35/80 vertical machining center offers high-precision for large workpieces.
Mazak’s FJV-35/80 double-column vertical machining center is designed to provide high-precision over extended periods of operation with intelligent CNC functions and rigid construction.
Suitable for industries such as aerospace, construction, die & mold and heavy machinery, the Mazak FJV-35/80 accommodates workpieces weighing up to 3000 kg on its 2240 mm × 750 mm worktable.
The machining center’s design eliminates the spindle overhang often incorporated in C-frame vertical machining centers and facilitates convenient loading/unloading of large workpieces.
The Mazak FJV-35/80 is equipped with a 50-taper, 37 kW (50 HP), 10,000-rpm integrated spindle that generates up to 350 N・m of torque for cutting large cast iron, steel and aluminium workpieces. Other options include a 7000 min -1 high- torque spindle (optional) that is effective for rough machining of steel and cast iron , and a BT40 18000 min -1 high-speed spindle (optional) that enables highly efficient machining of nonferrous metal and difficult machining material through high speed machining are available.
The XYZ machine axis travels measure 2000 mm, 800 mm and 660 mm, respectively. Rapid traverse speeds are 40000 mm/min in the X and Y axes and 30000 mm/min in the Z axis. A 30-tool magazine helps reduce setup time and enables use of redundant tooling for unattended production.
With the machine’s Mazatrol SmoothG CNC, users can generate programs for processing complex parts through off-centerline machining as well as angled drilling, milling and tapping. It uses EIA/ISO and Mazatrol conversational languages in addition to advanced programming functions.

Mazak drives results with innovation at DISCOVER 2025
More than 1,800 visitors from across North America joined Mazak for DISCOVER 2025. The event included the broadest machine tool display in the United States and delivered Mazak’s latest innovations to every attendee.
Mazak demonstrated technologies to suit machine shops of all sizes and workflows of all types. On top of having over 30 Mazak machine tools on display with live, real-world cutting demonstrations, Mazak also hosted keynote speakers and panel discussions with insights and advice from industry experts.
From start to finish, DISCOVER 2025 made Mazak the place to be in October 2025.
