The Mazak Mega Turn 600M is designed to provide the fastest spindle speeds and rapid traverse rates in its class.
As an M configuration, the machine has a rotary tool spindle that allows it to perform secondary machining operations such as milling and drilling. As a result, machine shops can process parts in a single machine cycle for an overall boost in productivity and workpiece accuracy.
The Mazak Mega Turn 600M employs a high-torque integral spindle/motor and high-rigidity drum turret to easily tackle workpieces with maximum machining diameters of 600mm and workpiece heights of 550mm, depending on chuck specifications. The standard chuck size for this machine is 18", with 21" and 24" options available.
The Mazak Mega Turn 600M features an oscillation cutting function, a new MAZATROL function which prevents chips from being rolled on the workpiece. Oscillation cutting synchronizes the turning spindle and feed axis and provides a non-cutting time during cutting to cut off chips. The oscillation cutting can be easily performed by simply selecting the machining process that requires oscillation cutting on the MAZATROL. The MAZATROL automatically determines the machining conditions, eliminating a need for the time-consuming setting and input errors.
