Mazak underpins innovation and success for Harrop Engineering

On a recent visit to Australia, Mazak’s Mr Hitoshi Nagase and Mr Tatsuya Hirai toured Harrop Engineering to see how Mazak machines contribute to the company’s success and to gather insights into the company’s manufacturing innovation.

Mr Tim Harrop the Operations Manager took the Mazak visitors on a tour of Harrop’s facilities explaining how Mazak machines contribute to the company’s success.

Mazak’s Mr Hitoshi Nagase is the General Manager of Yamazaki Mazak Trading and Mr Tatsuya Hirai is Mazak’s Minokamo Product Manager.

Mr Hitoshi Nagase is in charge of the overseas department which includes Australia, managing machine tool orders, shipment, and customer relations. Mr Tatsuya Hirai manages sales and production related operations for many of the Mazak multitasking machines, turret lathes and vertical machining centers.

Mazak machines are indispensable to Harrop’s ability to swiftly switch between differential products to a crankshaft and then mining and aerospace components.

Mr. Tim Harrop, Operations Manager explained: “Mazak machines fulfill quality and reliability to meet the diverse needs of our production requirements. For example, our Mazak Integrex multi-tasking machines reduced the number of setups on an aerospace component from 4 to 2, reduced cycle time by 25%, and improved accuracy at the same time.”
